1. Rental Plans

A pre-authorization on a credit card is required at vehicle pickup, regardless of the rental plan selected.

Japan
Payment

  • After completing your rental car reservation, payment is made in Japanese Yen by credit card.
  • Accepted cards are limited to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB cards issued in Japan that support 3-D Secure authentication.
  • The payment page for Japanese Yen payment plans is operated by GMO Payment Gateway. For security reasons, we (Jeba Co., Ltd.) do not store credit card numbers or other card information.

Note: The rental agreement is concluded at the rental location. Any additional charges, such as optional products or services, must be paid by credit card at the rental location.

Pay at
Location

  • Only the reservation is made in Japan. The rental charges will be billed in the local currency to the credit card presented at the rental location and issued in the main driver's name.
  • The payment page for Japanese Yen payment plans is operated by GMO Payment Gateway. For security reasons, we (Jeba Co., Ltd.) do not store credit card numbers or other card information.

Note: Payment may be made with Visa or Mastercard. In some cases, charges may be billed in Japanese Yen. Exchange rates between the local currency and Japanese Yen are determined by Avis. Avis uses DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) to process charges in your home currency.

2. Additional Options

Depending on the products selected, the following charges may apply. These charges are payable at the rental location by credit card. Excludes certain products. Please contact us at the time of booking for details.

Additional Driver

  • An additional driver fee applies if anyone other than the renter drives the vehicle.
  • Insurance coverage will not apply to drivers who are not registered.
  • Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the renter.

Prepaid Fuel Service

  • At some rental locations, customers may prepay for a full tank at the time of pickup.
  • Fuel charges are non-refundable, even if the vehicle is returned with fuel remaining in the tank.

Young Driver Surcharge

  • A Young Driver Surcharge applies when the driver is under 25 years of age.

Taxes (TAX)

  • National, state/provincial, local, and sales taxes may apply to rental charges, optional insurance, equipment rentals, and other taxable expenses.

Equipment Rental Fee

  • Applies when renting equipment such as child seats or snow chains.

Airport and Facility Fees

  • Rentals originating from airports or train stations may be subject to airport concession fees and facility charges.

Return with a Full Tank

  • Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
  • If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, fuel charges and a service fee will be charged to the credit card used for payment.
  • For reservations under the United States Fuel-Inclusive Plan, returning the vehicle with a full tank is not required.

Registration Fees and One-Way Charges

  • In addition to taxes, vehicle registration fees and road-related taxes may apply.
  • A one-way fee may apply if the pickup and return locations are different.

Additional Charges Due to Changes in Rental Dates or Vehicle Category

  • If the vehicle category, rental dates, or other rental details are changed at the rental location, the rates confirmed at the time of booking may no longer apply and local rental rates may be charged instead. Please review the charges listed in your rental agreement.
