Renting a car can often involve time-consuming paperwork. As an Avis Preferred member, you can skip the lines at the pickup and return counters, with your completed paperwork and vehicle prepared in advance.

Enjoy access to some of the newest vehicles available in the Avis rental fleet.
3. Keys and Documents Ready Upon Arrival
At participating rental locations, your vehicle and rental documents will be prepared before you arrive. Simply present your driver's license and you're ready to go--no rental agreement signature required.
4. Convenient Parking Locations
Your rental vehicle will be parked in one of the most convenient pickup locations near the rental counter whenever available.**

- Member benefits may not be available at all rental locations.
- On your first rental after enrolling in Avis Preferred, you will need to visit the Preferred Counter so that your membership information can be verified by the rental location.
- No discount benefits are provided through membership.

1. New Member Registration
Access the membership registration page using the URL below and complete the application in Roman characters.
For detailed registration instructions, please refer to "Avis Preferred Registration Guide."

- The registration screen is displayed in Japanese, but all information must be entered in English using half-width Roman characters.
- Please keep a record of the password you create during registration.
- After completing registration, verify that the Preferred Member Number displayed on the screen matches the member number sent to your registered email address.
Physical membership cards are not issued. Please make a note of your member number.
Important: The following characters cannot be used in the address fields: hyphens (-), commas (,), number signs (#), and similar symbols. Instead, use half-width spaces.
Example: For the address [13-3-1001 Nihonbashi Kobunacho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 103-0024]

2. Update Your Registration Information
To update your registration details, enter your member number and log in through the "Already an Avis Customer?" section at the bottom of the registration page.
How to use
- When searching for rates on this website, enter your Preferred Member Number.
- You can enter your number in the "Preferred Member Number (Wizard Number)" field.
Preferred Member Q&A
By entering your Preferred Member Number when making a reservation, you can avoid re-entering information such as your address.
In larger rental locations, electronic display boards show your name and vehicle location, helping to speed up the rental process.
For your first rental after enrollment, you must visit the Preferred Counter to verify your registration details.
Even at locations without a dedicated Preferred display board, you can still use the Preferred Member Counter.
After completing your membership registration, your registration details must be verified at the counter during your first rental only. If the location has a dedicated Preferred Member Counter, please use that counter.
If your registered address is still listed as a U.S. address, you will need to update your address information.

Please note that updates to your registration information may take several days to process, so we recommend contacting us as early as possible. Please also note that any U.S. points and membership status will become invalid after the transfer.

Unfortunately, a Preferred Member Number cannot be added to an existing reservation after it has been created. Please cancel and rebook your reservation. Because rental rates are subject to change, we recommend registering for Preferred before making a reservation.
